This simple, elegant-looking gate is designed to go with the baluster fence.

We sand all our wood everything so that you have no worries about your children getting splinters. We also treat all our lumber with kid-friendly wood preservative so it will last longer!

We use 4”x4” x 36” high square posts on either side of the gate, and we cut the posts at an angle on top so they do not offer standing surfaces. The top of the gate is 30" high, and the gate is 48" (4 feet) long/wide.

Shown here is a single gate; the other photo shows that you can use two gates to make an 8’ access opening for moving equipment in and out, replacing woodchips, importing more sand, and so on.

This gate has 2 rails with balusters spaced 4.5” on center so that spaces between them meet all playground safety regulations; the 2 posts that come with the gate are 5’ long so they can be buried in the ground in concrete.

If you are in the northern part of the country where frost and freezing ground is an issue, we can provide longer posts. Just let us know.

The gate also has knee brace corners that triangulate the gate and prevent it from sagging, the hinges are heavy duty and sealed, and the latch is a simple catch.

We always recommend that posts be buried in concrete, up to 3-4’ deep anywhere in the country where the ground freezes. In other climates, 24” into the ground with concrete is fine!
