Our Bug Hotels provide a great way for children to see how insects live and work!!

Our Hotel consists of 6 large breeding and nesting chambers for wild bees, butterflies, ladybugs and other beneficial insects, which offer them shelter or refuge, particularly during winter.

Bug Hotels offer hosting for pollinators, which are critical for transferring pollen in and between flowers of the same species, and that leads to fertilization and successful seed and fruit production for plants. Pollination ensures that a plant will produce full-bodied fruit and a full set of viable seeds.

Bug hotels are also used as nest sites by insects which drag prey to the nest where an egg is deposited, or they allow insects, such as ladybugs and butterflies, to hibernate.

Bug hotels are popular amongst gardeners and fruit and vegetable growers due to their role encouraging insect pollination, so introducing an insect hotel into a habitat provides extremely valuable housing for beneficial insects!!

Impacts can be seen in the form of better soil quality, increased pollination, elevated ecosystem diversity, and reductions in the populations of detrimental insects.
